this project experiments with the ability of a 3-color laser scanning projector to isolate elements in the display and yield discreet images without the artifact associated with black produced by conventional projection technologies. with a laser scanning display, black is represented by the absence of incident light, where the light source (laser) is powered off. this unique feature contributes to a near-maximum high contrast ratio. another unique feature of this laser scanning display technology is that the projection device contains no optical lens. the projected image is always in focus. here, we see how lasers can be used to draw or paint on a variety of surfaces.
